YOUNG TALENT SPRINGBOARD - SUPPORTING TOMORROW’S PHOTOGRAPHERS

The support to young talents, recurrent during the cultural festivals of Deauville, comes true during Planche(s) Contact. This context has always been open to students of European schools and then started to welcome young photographers independently from their previous studies. The emerging talents, in residence in Deauville, produce a photographic work which is presented to the public during the Festival and is judged by photography professional and by the public itself.

A CONTEXT OPEN TO ANY PHOTOGRAPHIC GENRES
Five photographers are selected by the Planche(s) contact’s jury - consisting of photography professionals - according to their photographic experience, the interest they show for photographic orders and their portfolio. There are no constraints in terms of studies, references or experiences.

A CREATION RESIDENCE AND AN EXHIBITION
The five winners of the tender are awarded with a grant of € 4,000 for the creation and production of a photographic series that will be exhibited during the Planche(s) Contact Festival. After the vote of the public, one of them will receive the Planche(s) contact Prize and a grant of € 5,000. The five selected photographers are welcomed in Deauville for a three-week residency. The objective of this residency that questions the identity of the city is allowing young talents to keep pursuing their photographic style to meet an order and then exhibit their works. At the end of the Festival, the exhibited works will make part of the photographic collections of the City of Deauville.
