Well-being: 9 activities for a smooth recovery

Well-being: 9 activities for a smooth recovery

InDeauville, we have been swimming in sea water for 200 years for its therapeutic benefits. A tradition perpetuated today by two thalassos and a seawater swimming pool to offer a well-being break through massages, body treatments and healthy sports sessions.

1. Thalassos and spas for pampering

The heat of a whirlpool bath, the massage of a hydrojet, the virtues of algae and marine mud, the delicious smell of essential oils ... This winter, head to the thalassos and spas inDeauville, where you can let yourself be pampered by the expert hands of practitioners, taking care to offer us a well-being and cocooning break.

Two thalassos are open to epicureans: the Deauville Thalasso by Algotherm andInstitut des Cures Marines Trouville Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa. Two fully-fledged destinations, in a zen setting by the beach. We come there for an hour, a day or a week in search of tranquility, to test the traditional seawater-based treatments, to have a massage, to go for a cure, and of course, to recharge. The batteries. Faster but no less effective, the treatments offered in the spas pamper the back, face, head and feet for our greatest happiness. Ayurvedic, Balinese or Polynesian, massages and massages awaken our senses and make us travel around the globe.

2. Yoga to find your balance

Yoga to find your balance

Ancestral art straight from India and practiced by millions of yogis across the world, the yoga draws its benefits from relaxation and letting go. There are two main families: the gentle yoga and dynamic yoga.

As its name suggests, the first practice offers slower movements, requires less cardio and adapts very well to beginners, seniors and young mothers. We find the Hatha Yoga (the most common in the West, reconciling physical postures - Asanas - and breathing exercises - pranayama) or the Yin Yoga (relaxing postures anchored to the ground for a long time, from 2 to 6 minutes). More rhythmic, energetic and physically demanding, dynamic yoga connects postures at a fast and sporty pace, while maintaining deep and slow breathing. Different versions are available to participants, fromAshtanga Yoga (based on the synchronization of the breath and the rapid and precise sequence of series of postures) at Vinyasa Yoga (more free and creative than Ashtanga, because the series are not imposed) through the Iyengar Yoga (is based on the precise physical alignment of the body and promotes the use of accessories). Two yoga clubs offer these options: the Tiger Yoga Club of Normandy and Tiger Yoga Club at the Royal. Within theHanami Workshop, we are happy to try facial yoga to learn the gestures and reproduce them at home.

3. Pilates to work your deep muscles

Inspired by several disciplines including yoga, dance and gymnastics, the pilates is based on deep muscle work, namely stature and posture. Thanks to the gentle and harmonious movements punctuated by the central breathing, we find an optimal alignment of the spine, improves its flexibility, tones the body as a whole and evacuates stress. InDeauville, it is practiced in at Diane Barrière Le Normandy Spa in Diane Barrière Le Royal Spa and Institut des Cures Marines Trouville Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa on a mattress or on machines, in a group lesson or in a personalized individual session.

4. Nordic walking to revitalize yourself

Because this activity is gentle, regenerating and accessible to all, the Nordic's walk is THE solution to resume sport at the start of the school year! Derived from cross-country skiing born in Finland in the XNUMXth century, this walk is faster than hiking thanks to the use of two specific poles which accentuates the natural movement of the arms and allows to walk faster, longer, with less tired. Each session begins with warm-ups and ends with stretching. With Bungy Deauville Deauville Thalasso by Algotherm andInstitut des Cures Marines Trouville Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa, it is practiced with enthusiasm on the dikes of the seaside and on the sand, as close as possible to the waves, to breathe the salty air at the top of your lungs.

5. Sophrology to harmonize body and mind

Created in the 1960s by Alfonso Caycedo, neuropsychiatrist, sophrology consists of a set of techniques for relaxation, breathing, movements and muscle relaxation. It has many virtues such as physical relaxation and mental relaxation. The session begins with an exchange between the participant and the sophrologist, in order to know the motivations for his visit and to adapt the course. Stretching, relaxation then positive visualization exercises follow, each guided by the voice of the practitioner. At the end of the session, the participant expresses himself on the positive effects felt during the exercises but also on the difficulties encountered. It is practiced in group sessions with theHanami Workshop and Deauville Thalasso by Algotherm or in individual sessions with Anne Gaston-Carrere.

6. Reflexology to relax

Reflexology to relax
Leo Lemasson

From traditional Chinese medicine, this increasingly famous technique consists of stimulating "reflex zones" by massaging them with the tip of the finger. Whether on the feet, hands, ears or face, these areas are each connected to an organ or part of the body. By working manually on these reflex points, the reflexologist acts from a distance to relieve pain, release tension and promote good circulation of energy. With the reflexologist Anne Gaston-Carrere and Hanami Workshop, reflexology is practiced with closed eyes, comfortably installed on a massage table or an armchair, in a peaceful environment suitable for relaxation.

7. Respirology to control your breath

Breathing well is the basis of our vital energy; still little known, respirology is the new well-being tool that helps to control your breathing! However linked to emotions, it can be impacted by stress, fatigue and any other negative feeling. To better oxygenate your body and brain, the coaches of theInstitut des Cures Marines Trouville Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa teach you how to use your respiratory function optimally and take the time to fill your rib cage as much as possible through simple exercises in the pool, in the studio or outdoors.

8. The aquabike to pedal with a smile

The aquabike to pedal with a smile

Like aquagym, the Aquabike immerses us in the water up to the chest to perform dynamic movements… on a bike! With your feet propped up in the pedals, you get up, sit down, accelerate then slow down under the expert advice of the coaches of the Deauville Thalasso by Algotherm or Institut des Cures Marines Trouville Hotel Thalassa Sea & Spa. The exercises follow one another, the cardio rises crescendo, the members of the body, from the legs to the arms through the abdominals, work in depth. On the program, good humor, and surpassing oneself! For more comfort and privacy, the Aquabike can also be practiced in a private cabin with Deauvital et Spirit of Spa by M. Like real individual whirlpools, the cabins offer a personalized session where you choose the duration (30 or 45 minutes), the intensity of the effort and the temperature of the water.

9. From February, swimming to exercise without forcing

In Deauville, we love the sea so much that we capture it to fill the Olympic swimming pool. Its water heated to 28 ° C and its 50-meter long pool delight amateurs, competitors and professional swimmers who come to train or take a dip. Like a fish in water, everyone finds their own rhythm, varying the pleasures between a crawl, a breaststroke - and for the bravest, a butterfly - but above all, is spent without causing any impact on the joints. Looking for a group sport? Aquagym lessons are taught every week by the lifeguards of the pool.
