A RICH CULTURAL LIFE
Since the creation of the American Film Festival in 1975, the history of Deauville has been marked by a number of major cultural initiatives and events. They will resonate with the Franciscans. Some shows will take place in the auditorium installed in the Chapel, festivals and major international events will find their continuation there, and others will be installed there.
Six festivals punctuate the cultural calendar of Deauville today:
> the American Film Festival,
> the Easter Music Festival and the Musical August, which since 1996 has welcomed young soloists in residence;
> the "winter" cultural season
> the Books & Music festival which explores the links between words and notes
> the "Planches Contact" festival, a festival of photographic creation.

The artists' residencies - a dozen per year - will also be able to flourish in an adapted environment, favorable to meetings with the public.
The Franciscans will also live the other pulsations of the city, the sport, the great equestrian meetings, or economic will be so many opportunities to create the meeting and the sharing, first values of the territory.
And every week, the place proposes from morning to evening appointments to the inhabitants, associations and residents (readings, animations, projections, meetings...)... who can also take the initiative.
