TOURISM: WE ALL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY

Visitor numbers for tourism businesses, whatever their nature, depend to a large extent on tourist numbers for the territory and its brand image. In order to act on these two levers, the Mayors of eleven communes created Territoire de Deauville in January 2017. The mission of this public establishment is to federate all tourism stakeholders around these objectives. By coming together, the communes saw the opportunity to share their vision of tourism development; to work in synergy and no longer in isolation; to equip themselves with pooled and necessarily reinforced resources to be more effective; to develop new skills that are indispensable in today's tourism market.

TERRITOIRE DE DEAUVILLE: A DIGITAL TRAVEL AGENCY
Territoire de Deauville's mission goes beyond that of the old tourist offices. It is no longer simply a question of delivering information to people who are already in the area, but of winning them over, advising them better and building their loyalty. The organization has acquired skills in territorial marketing and has restructured itself, while equipping itself with digital tools that enable it to position itself on the web. It has organized cross-functional services totally dedicated to tourism development, in addition to a reception service consisting of six tourist information offices. It is now working in depth on its offer and its assets to better promote and adapt them when necessary. An approach shared by the region's tourism players. Within Territoire de Deauville, institutions, businesses, associations and local residents work together to share their experiences and take collective action to enhance the area's appeal.

The shared brand created to support the region's communications is a banner that highlights a common narrative about the tourist destination and has the power to make a lasting impression. It is intended to be shared by all the economic, cultural and sporting players who refer to the region to promote themselves, their products, events, successes and so on.
The brand is based on the name of Deauville, the commune with the strongest reputation among the eleven that have joined forces to work together. It's a choice we've all made: Deauville's reputation is a major commercial asset.

NINE OBJECTIVES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM IN THE REGION
The Mayors of the eleven communes in the area have set themselves nine objectives which provide the framework for Territoire de Deauville's actions.

4 - Develop off-season activity
5 - Enhance the area's image
6 - Attract new customers
7 - Increase our visibility and reputation in France and abroad
