Created in 2010 at the initiative of the City of Deauville, the Planches Contact Festival invites a selection of photographers in creative residencies each year, inviting them to take a unique look at Deauville and the neighboring territories ...

This festival of photographic creations - recently opened to video - is presented in four parts: monographic exhibitions, the Tremplin Jeunes Talents, the exhibitions of photo4food photographers and the 25e Longines time.

Monographic exhibitions

With the founding idea of favoring creative residences and public commissions, Planches Contact has set itself the theme of exploring and restoring everything that constitutes the identity factors of a city and the surrounding territory. Year after year, photographers focus their gaze on Deauville and the region and exhibit their unique vision. The photographers of this edition are: Antoine d'Agata, Anne-Lise Broyer, Baudouin Mouanda, Joan Fontcuberta, Pilar Rosado, SMITH, Riverboom and The Anonymous Project.

The Young Talents Springboard

A constant feature of all cultural festivals in Deauville, support for young talents is materialized with Planches Contact through a competition open from the outset to students from European photography schools, then to young photographers regardless of their background. Hosted in residence in Deauville, they produce photographic work on the city, presented to the public during the Festival and submitted to the vote of image professionals and the public.

This year, Teo Becher, Celine Croze, Antoine Lecharny and Alisa Martynova are the young photographers selected by the jury chaired by Sarah Moon to benefit from a creative residency lasting several weeks in Deauville. In the running for the Tremplin Jeunes Talents Planches Contact 2021 Prize, they offer their perspective on this territory they are discovering; their works are the subject of an exhibition presented in the new cultural center of the Franciscans.

Partner of the festival since last year, the young photo4food foundation committed to the promotion of photography and the fight against poverty, this year exhibits five photographers in the festival with Pierre-Elie de Pibrac, FLORE, Costanza Gastaldi and the duo Caimi & Piccinni. Their photos will be sold at an auction for the benefit of the French Red Cross of the Côte Fleurie.
