Created in 1992 on the initiative of the Regional Council of Lower Normandy and private partners, the "Paint in Normandy" collection is today rich with more than a hundred paintings and unites in a unique way famous artists and unknown painters around the representation of Normandy at the end of the XIXth and at the beginning of the XXth century.

For nearly twenty years, the association "Peindre en Normandie" has visited auction rooms and galleries to bring together more than one hundred and twenty paintings by French and foreign painters who painted Normandy, its beaches, its landscapes and its natures. dead, its inhabitants. These illustrious or unknown painters were seduced by Normandy, its colors, its clouds, thus producing the most beautiful works in the time of Impressionism and Fauvism.
The "Paint in Normandy" collection with Renoir, Monet, Boudin, Géricault, Vuillard, Courbet, Corot, Dufy and many others, has become the ambassador of the Normandy regions, a real center of excellence. She was exhibited in France and she is also the messenger of France abroad. In recent years, the collection has been welcomed in the Scandinavian countries, in Copenhagen, in Bergen and in Helsinki, then in the Baltic countries, in Tallinn and in Riga or in Minsk. Tens of thousands of people were able to meet French culture, Norman painting. These exhibitions held in magnificent museums allow France to show its cultural strength.
In 2018, the "Paint in Normandy" collection stopped at Deauville, supplemented by the Franciscan collection for an exceptional exhibition at Point de Vue.
