THE EXHIBITIONS OF OFF
The "Off" of Planche (s) Contact hosts each year fifteen photographic exhibitions produced by photographers living part of the year in Deauville, or by collectives and associations of photography enthusiasts. Deauville and its components remain the central theme of this section, supported by photographers who know the city and its atmosphere very well. The exhibitions take place in private places, galleries, hotels ... from October 20 to November 25.

Essential in the shadows

Nicolas Katz pays tribute here to training riders. More numerous than men in the world of horse racing, they ride and care for horses with an almost maternal devotion. They succeed in creating a bond of trust and complicity with the horses. The photographer himself succeeded in establishing this link with close-up analogue and medium-format photography.

Deauville emptied.

Deauville, an empty city? Between the seasons and the places there are gaps. The absence of the human, the frontality of the shots, banal but identifiable subjects, a deserted Deauville which inspires in Kevin Louviot a bittersweet poetry of the cyclical abandonment proper to any seaside town.

A few steps on the boards…

The boards are one of the symbols of Deauville and remain the place of a dense social life. It seemed obvious to Véronique Mollero to take a few snapshots of all these anonymous people who came to follow in the legendary steps of this legendary walk.

Imaginary bubbles float over the city above the sea.

Bubbles of imagination on the sea. Ephemeral reflections of shapes in the making. Fluid memories of a city… city of water, of water-city. Quicksand memories. " A man and a woman At dawn on the beach. An (almost) secret garden

Its beach with multicolored umbrellas, its boards ..., everyone recognized it. But who knows his (almost) secret garden "The Gulbenkian Park"? It is reached by the small roads that lead to the heights of the city. A 38ha park which is protected by tall forests in the form of green cathedrals. It is a garden of silence and well-being that generates dreams and meditation. It is the garden of the paradox of a life, more than eventful in the four corners of the world. A haven of peace offered in Deauville in 1973.
