Square de la mairie de Deauville

20, rue Robert Fossorier

The square is situated in front of the Town Hall, built in 1880 according to the design of the Versailles architect Saintin, proposing a Beaux-Arts style building. After the World War II, the Municipality, wanting to adjust the red-brick building to the regional identity of the city, entrusted its “normandisation” to architect Albert Guy. The complementary wing was rebuilt, a polygonal stairway turret was created and the enclosed area in front of the Town Hall was turned into a square.
