Tired of the crowd in Saint Tropez, Françoise Sagan rents in July 1959, the Manoir du Breuil in Equemauville, between Honfleur and Deauville. She frequents the gaming tables of the Casino of Deauville, plays with passion and in the night of August 7 to 8, 1959, wins 8 million Francs. With this sum she bought the manor house and became the owner of "... what was to be and still is my only property on earth: a house that is still run down, located twelve kilometers from Deauville. From that lucky day on, Deauville and Françoise Sagan adopted each other, with a passion for gambling and horse racing, a taste for parties shared with friends, and the pleasure of breaks to dream on the vast beach of Deauville, in all seasons.
