Deauville - August 18th & 19th, 2018

106 years after having participated to the inaugural season of the Casino Barrière Deauville theatre, the Ballets Russes ballet company is back.

Under the artistic direction of Serguei Filine, about 15 Russian star dancers and first soloists reproduce at the Casino Barrière theatre the choreographies of Fokine and Nijinski created by the Ballets Russes of Serge Diaghilev and performed for the inauguration of the theatre.

For the first time after over a century, the greatest artists of the Ballet du Bolchoï, the Mariinsky theatre, the Musical Theatre Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko are performing on the stage of the Casino Barrière of Deauville on August 18th and 19th. The gala-concert inspired by the famous "Russian Seasons” is a tribute to Sergey Diaghilev, great impresario who funded the Ballets Russes at the beginning of the 20th century.
The program offered in Deauville includes choreographic masterpieces that were responsible for the great success of Ballet Russe all over the world. The artistic director of this gala, Sergei Filine, has directed for several years the Bolchoï theatre after a long career as “Premier Danseur”, then Principal dancer (corresponding to “Danseur étoile” at the Opéra de Paris).

After the first performance, a “Russian dinner” will take place at the Salon des Ambassadeurs of the Casino Barrière de Deauville to discover the new Russian cuisine, prepared by one of the 10 better starred chefs in the world: Vladimir Moukhine.
