Since its creation, Livres & Musiques has encouraged young readers and honored children's literature. With a program tailored to all ages, young readers will have something to enjoy.
A SPACE FORBIDDEN TO ADULTS
Just as children love to have "their" room at home, they will love the space that the festival has reserved for them, in the heart of the Centre International de Deauville. Specialized bookstores, youth publishers, discussion forums, hands-on workshops: everything is done to give the youngest the desire to (re)discover reading.

THE TEEN PRIZE: YOUNG PEOPLE READ (TOO...) AND VOTE!
Who said that the words "youth" and "readers" were incompatible? Certainly not the team of the Festival Livres & Musiques, which makes it a point of honor to give a special place to teenagers. With a day dedicated to schoolchildren, and a Teen Prize, awarded by 2,600 young people this year! Supported and co-organized by the bookshops of the Espaces culturels Leclerc de Normandie, this prize offers a great opportunity for all these students to reinforce their taste for reading and to sharpen their critical thinking. A working group has selected four books, related to music, of course. The students of the 3rd year of secondary school and the 2nd year of high school of the region started to work from the beginning of September. It was up to them to vote, and to participate in the award ceremony during the Festival: a morning punctuated by debates, screenings and musical moments.
