Born in Buenos Aires, Marcia Romano left Argentina with her family for France at the end of the 70s. After studying cinema (Paris 8, Fémis), filming experiences (Yolande Zauberman, Noémie Lvovsky) and development in various production companies (Ima Films, Fidélité), she co-wrote her very first script in 1997, Les Vacances, a short film directed by Emmanuelle Bercot. This was the beginning of many script collaborations: François Ozon, Emmanuel Bourdieu, Éric Rochant, Xavier Giannoli, Emmanuelle Bercot (whom she met again for La Tête Haute), Radu Mihaileanu, Alice Winocour, Audrey Estrougo, Audrey Diwan, Édouard Baer and others. Audrey Estrougo's Suprêmes, and Emmanuelle Bercot's De son vivant, feature films that she also co-wrote, are presented out of competition this year at the Cannes Film Festival. L'Événement by Audrey Diwan, another co-writer, will be screened in official selection at the next Venice Film Festival.
