Marcia Romano

member of the Palmarès Jury of the 47th American Film Festival

Born in Buenos Aires, Marcia Romano left Argentina with her family for France at the end of the 70s. After studying cinema (Paris 8, la Fémis), filming experiences (Yolande Zauberman, Noémie Lvovsky) and development in various production companies (Ima Films, Fidélité), she co-wrote her very first screenplay in 1997, Les Vacances, a short film directed by Emmanuelle Bercot. This is the beginning of many scriptwriting collaborations: François Ozon, Emmanuel Bourdieu, Éric Rochant, Xavier Giannoli, Emmanuelle Bercot (whom she finds for La Tête Haute), Radu Mihaileanu, Alice Winocour, Audrey Estrougo, Audrey Diwan, Édouard Baer and others. Suprêmes by Audrey Estrougo, and De son vivant by Emmanuelle Bercot, feature films that she also co-wrote, will be screened out of competition this year at the Cannes Film Festival. Audrey Diwan's Event, another co-writing, will be screened in the official selection at the next Venice Film Festival.
