Jean René
Invited to the 2018 Books & Music Festival
Born in 1953, Jean René was first a teacher, then he started to sing in the cabarets of Lyon, translating books from German at the same time, because he was married to an Austrian woman. He wrote his first songs for his children, Frederik and Pierre, and proposed a show adapted to the children of the Lyon region.
It was the beginning of a career punctuated by numerous records - including a gold one with Des câlins - and thousands of shows in French-speaking countries.
In 2011, he created a publishing house for young people, Bulles de savon, distributed by Flammarion, where great names set the tone: Jean-Claude Carrière, Agnès de Lestrade, Jacques Bonnaffé, Michel Piquemal, François Reynaert.
At the heart of all these creations, it is the desire to transmit that traces this long path with and for the youth.
