At the Polo School
Immersed in the equestrian world since his childhood, Evrard de Spa was first introduced to classical disciplines before turning to polo, which was an obvious choice.
With a DEJEPS (Diplôme d'Etat de la Jeunesse, de l'Education Populaire et du Sport) in polo and a polo instructor, Evrard de Spa created a polo school with the Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville, making Deauville the capital of polo. Thanks to the support of the French Equestrian Federation and the French Polo Federation, young players can perfect their skills all year round.
The polo school benefits from an exceptional environment. In addition to indoor polo in the Olympic arena of the Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville, there is polo on the beach and grass polo on the fields located in the center of the Deauville-La Touques racetrack.

For the record...
In 1907, the polo club was founded. In 1912, Arthur Capel, also known as Boy Capel, a great lover of Gabrielle Chanel, was on the club's board of directors. The following year, he opened his first hat store on rue Gontaut-Biron. Gabrielle, who rides very well, is very assiduous and does not miss a match of her brilliant protector.
In 1923, the Deauville Polo Club already had more than fifty players. Alphonse XIII, King of Spain, and Winston Churchill played there. Later, the Maharajah of Jaipur came to play tournaments on the Deauville grounds with his turbaned players and his horses with silk martingales. Not forgetting the Prince of Wales, honorary member since 1977.
