I wanted to confine mist

Jean-Charles Remicourt-Marie was born in Caen in 1990. In 2014, he graduated from the Art and Media Superior School of Caen. His work explores the ambiguities found in military devices: the formal seduction or decorative aspects they may present, and their use. These characteristics are subjected to poetic diversions and a reflection on simulacrum, trick and the unveiled. His works have been exhibited in Tokyo (Tama art museum, in 2015 and 2017), in Québec (L’oeil de poisson and Galerie Lacerte in 2017) and in Milan (T-space and Current in 2018).

In Deauville, he made a series that reveals a city through historical and personal layers: gambling, luxury, the military past of Normandy and tourism.
