The members of the Hermes Quartet, all graduates of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, met in 2008 and began their training with the Ravel and Ysaÿe Quartets, then in Germany with the Artemis Quartet.
First prize winner of the Lyon (2009) and Geneva (2011) international competitions, he is alsofirst prize winner of the Young Concert Artist auditions in New York in 2012. On this occasion he was invited to make his debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington and Carnegie Hall in New York, where he was welcomed by enthusiastic audiences and critics.
He has already performed at the Orangerie de Sceaux, Périgord Noir, Radio France/Montpellier, Easter and Musical August in Deauville, Sâou chante Mozart, Septembre Musical de l'Orne, at the Cité de la musique and regularly on France Musique.
After a first disc dedicated to Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven released in 2012, they recorded in 2014 for La Dolce Volta the complete string quartets of Robert Schumann and "Lettres intimes" by Leos Janacek for B Records captured in public at the Easter Festival in Deauville.
The Hermès Quartet is a laureate of the Banque Populaire-Natixis Foundation and has been in residence at the Fondation Singer-Polignac since 2013.
