First visit to Les Franciscaines for the Friends of the Museum

Ils ont été les premiers à visiter le chantier et à découvrir sur site et en détail le projet des Franciscaines

The members of the Friends of the Museum association, under the presidency of Jean-Edouard Mazery, were welcomed on Saturday by Caroline Clémensat, Deputy Director General of the City's services in charge of the project, and Jean-Yves Houel, associate architect of the Moatti & Rivière agency, Lynda Frenois, curator of the Museum and her assistant Cécile Le Brenne. Plans and sketches were presented to them. The Friends of the Museum then joined the Books & Music Festival. Their involvement in the future project will encourage them to follow and get involved in the cultural life of Deauville for two years.

A major role in revitalizing the collections

The Association of Friends of the Deauville Museum is an independent association governed by the law of 1901. Its objective is to support the creation of Les Franciscaines Museum and its development with three main missions.

As a priority, to contribute to the enrichment of Les Franciscaines collections by organizing the search for donations and the collection of funds for acquisitions. The association will also finance acquisitions, the production of works and publications and any other action that may contribute to the development and prosperity of the place. The Friends of the Museum may also facilitate partnerships or patronage, even if the City has commissioned a company specialized in this field.

Finally, it will also contribute to the promotion of the events of the place and will be able to organize any event to enrich the knowledge and nourish the artistic sensitivity of everyone: conferences, visits, artistic trips?

A common base of benefits for Friends

Joining the Friends of the Deauville Museum involves you in the life of the Museum. Your membership now associates you with the life of the museum:

  • You are kept informed of the museographic choices, the progress of the work and are invited to regular visits of the construction site.
  • You are invited to the City of Deauville's openings now.
  • You are invited to the conferences and debates.
  • You are the first to be informed at home about the activities of the museum and those of the association.
  • You will receive the quarterly journal of the association.
  • You benefit from reduced rates on the activities of the association.
  • In addition, members receive a tax receipt that entitles them to a tax reduction.

Six levels of commitment

Several levels of commitment are proposed to open to the largest number of members. From 30 to 100€, six formulas have been designed:

  • Young active formula, from 18 to 26 years old, with an annual fee of 30€.
  • Individual active formula with an annual fee of 50€.
  • Active duo package with a fee of 80€.
  • Family package with a fee of 100 €.
  • Two packages are also available for students (15€) and for professionals in the arts, tourism, education, and those in charge of supervising young people and disabled people (35€).

In addition, there are three more attractive packages (from €900 to €10,000) for donor members, benefactors and corporate bodies or companies with more exceptional benefits: guided tours of exhibitions, privatization of spaces, etc.
