Planches Contact is a unique festival of photographic creation based on the principle of public commission. The photographers invited to Deauville for a residency match their universe with the city and then exhibit their work from October to January. For the past two years, Planches Contact has been open to the whole of Normandy, proposing to the invited photographers to explore the region, beyond Deauville, coastline, countryside or urban agglomerations. 

The event has become in a few years a real laboratory of observation of the territory through images. 

Already part of the DNA of the festival, outdoor exhibitions are privileged and offer an overview of the complexity and richness of the contemporary photographic scene.

FIVE COMPONENTS STRUCTURE THE FESTIVAL
- New exhibitions of photographers invited in residence. In addition to the Planches Contact exhibitions, the Photo4Food Foundation invites each photographer to the festival.
- The Young Talent Springboard, a section reserved for emerging photographers competing for the Planches Contact prize
- The 25th Longines Hour competition, a competition open to all during the night of the last weekend of October
- The monographic exhibitions of the festival's guests.
