FISHING ON FOOT

The hidden species of the sandy foreshore
The beaches seem lifeless, yet many shells, many lives colonize the sand. The depth of burial for each species varies from one to thirty centimeters, to each its zone, its floor. These species are not so easy to catch, the eye must be trained finely over time to detect the characteristic signs of presence of each burrower. For example, you will be able to see the jet of water that can be provoked by tapping on the sand or the "two holes" of varying size that correspond to the siphons of the razor clams. An informed fisherman is worth two and allows to maintain a sustainable fishery by not stirring up the sand unnecessarily (deterioration of the environment) and by keeping only the specimens of reasonable size and number.
Two distinct fishing zones coexist on our territory: Villerville and from Deauville to Villers-sur-Mer, each zone has its own species. Fishing for shellfish is forbidden all year round in Villerville, but you can still fish for the famous grey shrimp.
