Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg met in 1968. Invited by Régine, they adopted Deauville from 1969. Charlotte was born in 1971. In 1975, Jane bought the Cresseveuille presbytery, where they invited: Andrew Birkin, Régine, Jean-Claude Vannier or Yul Brynner, Charlotte's godfather who came as a neighbor of Bonnebosq. Véronique Mortaigne, journalist, commented on and followed the song for a long time for Le Monde and then for Télérama. Here she recounts the happy and loving years of Jane and Serge. At her side Barbara Carlotti, composes a mini recital and takes again with her beautiful deep voice the songs loved by Serge G. and those sung by him, by Jane B. or Régine, to browse, in stories and songs, an ardent history of love, in which Deauville and the Pays d'Auge were also the backdrop.

A creation by Franciscaines / Deauville, designed by Véronique Mortaigne, with Barbara Carlotti, vocals.

JANE AND SERGE
Gainsbourg-Birkin met in 1968. They frequented Deauville a lot. From 1968, they went on weekends to the house that Régine occupies near Deauville. Charlotte was born in 1971. Jane bought the rectory of Cresseveuille in 1975, where the Geenwich Meridian passed, right on the money. Yul Brynner, who has a house a few miles away, becomes Charlotte's godfather. Serge does his shopping in solex, frequents the Normandy in Deauville, and the local bistro. Jane is not a muse. She is a young artist from Swinging London, she will bring a lot to Gainsbourg. She says the first thing she gave was to give him back his femininity. He adopts the repeto moccasins, the badly trimmed beard, the hair in the blow, she offers him "duchess jewelry". He has a twin sister. She's androgynous, he's ambiguous. She is the daughter of a Navy commander who helped the French resistance, he is the son of Russian Jewish emigrants forced to wear the yellow star.
If we saw Serge Gainsbourg frequenting Saint-Tropez and his icon Brigitte Bardot, if the scenes of jealousy of Serge Gainsbourg during the filming of "La Piscine" in Ramatuelle are legendary, the Normandy where Serge Gainsbourg said "to be bored" is in reality a place of friendship and loving memories.
Indeed, his father was a pianist and with his family toured beach casinos, especially on the Côte Fleurie. One of the rare paintings which remained intact painted by Gainsbourg, a boy and a girl playing in the sand, was preserved by Juliette Gréco to whom he had given it.
Androgyny, twinning, provocations in tune with the times, and "blanche" (calva) wrapped in newspaper, coming out of any boiler, made the splendor of country picnics with a large table and wicker baskets, the at Régine intime of the iconic couple of pop made in France and made in England.
