Paris-Normandie: New trains and more lines

Passengers on Norman rail lines, including those between Paris-Saint-Lazare and Trouville / Deauville stations, now benefit from the comfort and performance of new trains.

After taking over the management of the Intercités Normandes lines (Paris-Caen-Cherbourg / Trouville-Deauville, Paris-Rouen-Le Havre, Paris-Granville, Paris-Evreux-Serquigny and Caen-Le Mans-Tours) in January 2020, the Region Normandy has worked to ensure that from 2021 additional trains are offered on all lines in the region and to replace aging trains with 40 new trains, offering comfort worthy of TGV, for the Paris-Caen-Cherbourg / Trouville lines -Deauville and Paris-Rouen-Le Havre.

More trains

Since February, the Normandy Region and SNCF have been offering travelers a new enhanced transport offer on all Normandy lines. Additional trains have been put into circulation:

In Week :  
- 4 round trips Paris-Caen-Cherbourg,  
- 1 return trip Paris-Trouville / Deauville  
- 1 return trip Paris-Rouen-Le Havre
- 1 return trip Caen-Coutances
- 1 train Caen-Lisieux
- 1 train Caen-Cherbourg
- 1 train Caen-Paris
- 1 return trip Paris-Rouen

The weekend :  
- 2 return trips on Saturday and 3 return trips and 4 returns on Sunday Paris-Caen-Cherbourg
- 3 outward and 1 return on Saturday and 1 outward and 2 return on Sunday Paris-Trouville / Deauville
- 3 outward and 1 return on Saturday and 1 outward and 3 return on Sunday Paris-Rouen-Le Havre
- 1 return trip Paris-Caen

New, well-equipped trains

40 new Omneo Premium trains, with comfort close to TGVs, now run on 3 axes: Paris-Rouen-Le Havre, Paris-Caen-Cherbourg and Paris-Deauville / Trouville. These double-decker trainsets were gradually deployed between February and September 2020 to replace the Corail trainsets. 27 other trains have been ordered for 2023 to replace the TER between Paris and Rouen, and Paris-Évreux-Serquigny.

Running at up to 200 km / h, these new, more flexible, more modern, more reliable trains play a major role in improving punctuality on the lines, their reversibility making it possible to start again in the other direction without having to use a locomotive. , and improving the transport conditions for users with trainsets equipped with:

- walk-up to the same level allowing easy access for people with reduced mobility
- comfortable and spacious seats with reading headrests and electrical / USB sockets…

A Flexi'Pass for more flexibility when traveling

SNCF Voyageurs and the Normandy Region have also adapted to changes in customer habits and have created a new subscription to meet the needs of frequent travelers and teleworkers. This new offer, eligible for the employer transport premium, offers 20 trips over 30 days for à la carte trips, whatever the reason, in Normandy from or to Paris. It is particularly suitable for travelers who make 10 round trips over 30 days, i.e. a travel frequency of 2 round trips per week on average.
