Raphaël Pagnon


After studying violin at the conservatories of Reims and Marseille, Raphaël entered Paris in the classes of Annick Raphaël Roussin and Christophe Poiget.

At the same time, he began viola with Michel Michalakakos and joined the CNSMDP the same year in the class of viola pagnon by Pierre-Henri Xuereb. In 2015 he obtained his interpreter license with Very Good mention.

Passionate about chamber music, Raphaël had the opportunity to perform alongside renowned partners: Dong-Suk Kang, Pascal Devoyon, Raphaël Chrétien, Dejan Bogdanovic. He benefited from the advice of Yuri Bashmet, Garth Knox, François Salque, the Ébène and Modigliani quartets.

He is the winner of the Città di Cremona International Competition, the National Competition of Young Viola Players, the Department of Bouches-du-Rhônes Prize, the Bellan and Tertis Competitions, and is supported by the "Music and Wine at Clos Vougeot" Foundation.

Raphaël is a member of the Staatskapelle Berlin academy under the direction of Daniel Barenboim between 2016 and 2018. On this occasion, he performs in places as prestigious as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Philharmonie de Berlin under the direction of chefs such as Zubin Mehta, Simon Rattle, James Levine, Paavo Järvi. Raphaël plays on a viola by Friedrich Alber from 2014.
