Touques - June 29 & 30, 2019

Hear ye, hear ye, gentle ladies and noble lords! The City of Touques invites you to go back in time spending a weekend in the era of minstrels and knights...

As it was the second Norman metropolis in the Middle Ages, the City of Touques is chosen as the privileged setting for medieval fairs since 2011. For the IX edition, the medieval town pays tribute to the Spice Route and invites the visitors to experience the era of Norman dukes.
Experience the Middle Ages era!

After the Viking had come and gone, the small green village of Touques started to focus on sea activities and became the political and maritime heart of Northern Pays d’Auge. At the dawn of the kingdom of William the Conqueror, Touques already was a powerful city. The sailors left French ports to head towards African coasts, bringing back mysterious fruit, precious wood and, of course, ivory and aromatic spices that started to be sold in France.
Normandy became the departure point of great adventures.

Like every year, innkeepers will be waiting for clients in the middle of the covered market. The Medieval Market is found in the Grand-rue. The “Surgien”, the bird show, troubadours, music and dance spectacles are scheduled throughout a dynamic weekend!
