Guest of the 2021 L'Appel du Large festival

Born in 1980, Maude Maris is a painter and lives in Paris. She graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Caen, then did a post-diploma at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf, in the Art / Architecture section. She is represented by the Praz-Delavallade gallery in Paris / Los Angeles, and Pi Artworks, in London / Istanbul.

She regularly shows her work in group exhibitions in France and abroad (IAC Villeurbanne, MAMC Saint-Etienne, Artspace Boan Seoul ...) or personal exhibitions (40mcube / Musée des Beaux-arts de Rennes, Center d ' Art Chapel Joan of Arc Thouars, Chapel of Calvairiennes Mayenne ...). His works are present in many private and public collections (FRAC Auvergne, FRAC Haute et Basse-Normandie, Fonds Bredin-Prat, Fondation Emerige, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes ...).

As part of the L'Appel du Large festival which will take place from July 2 to 4, 2021, Maude Maris offers an oil on the table "Seashells don't have ears". Building a wall of shells behind the beach, a rockery, a rococo wall, like a rocky pillar, it becomes the setting for a painting. In short, a vertical landscape, which reverses the perspective and communicates with us through - beyond the hollow of the waves. More information on L'Appel du Large here.
