Commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armistice of 1918 in the Tourgéville cemetery
Created in 1918, the Tourgéville military cemetery was intended for the burial of deceased soldiers in hospital establishments of the British army installed in Trouville-Deauville. It owes its existence to the installation from June 1917 of an "English" health camp on Mont-Canisy as well as to the presence of the 14th convalescent camp in Trouville-sur-mer. 293 soldiers of the 1st World War rest there, a majority of them from the United Kingdom. The commemoration will present extracts from the photo exhibition "Deauville 1914/1918 - The flowered beach in the great war" concerning the British camps of Tourgéville on Mont Canisy.
