A triple anniversary for the
45th American Film Festival

Since its creation in 1975, the American Film Festival has been the unmissable event for the start of the cinema year. Official competition dedicated to independent films, tributes, documentaries, premieres, screenings punctuate a festival in perpetual evolution and open to the public!
In addition to the 45 years of the festival, there are 25 years of competition and 10 years of the series component. A triple anniversary which will be celebrated throughout the duration of the festival, notably with the presence of numerous jury presidents and with a partnership with the INA which will allow us to relive the key moments of the Festival.

The competition : the artistic gaze of independent cinema as a truth about the world. To discover and support new talents. Catherine Deneuve will be the president of the jury for the Deauville palmares and Anna Mouglalis will chair the Révélation jury.
Your opinion also has a price! At the initiative of the City of Deauville, festival-goers vote for the Public Prize.
The first : the authors and directors of today's cinema meet the public
Uncle Sam's docs: get to know American society better through documentaries, testimony of its time and its era.
Tributes: the pleasure of American cinema in its myths and legends and the celebration of talent. The festival will pay tribute this year to Geena Davis, Sienna Miller, Kristen Stewart and Pierce Brosnan.
New Hollywood: Honor the future by inviting an actor, a flagship of American cinema, to the Festival. The festival will honor Sophie Turner.
American Heritage: rediscover the best of American cinema in a restored version.
Deauville season 10: the best of the TV series in preview, the meeting of the cinematographic and televisual writings by those who hold the pen. To celebrate the 10 years of Deauville Saison, the festival will offer on the big screen a marathon of more than 70h of the whole 8 seasons of the series Game of Thrones.
