HISTORY (S) OF THE PRESQU'ILE,
NEW DISTRICT OF DEAUVILLE

Deauville has chosen for this new edition to highlight the Presqu'île de la Touques. Formerly a trading port gathering at the gates of the city wine quay and coal quay, shipyard, mechanical workshops and port warehouses, the peninsula today hosts a renowned marina hosting the most prestigious yachts. In full mutation, it becomes a new district of Deauville with constructions of new housing, shops, services and public spaces.
In the program :
15 p.m .: conference illustrated by Yves Aublet, followed by a guided tour of the peninsula 17 p.m: unveiling of a historic and tourist totem

ANDRÉ HAMBOURG, SHADOW & LIGHT
For the first time, 66 paintings by André Hambourg among the 536 that make up the donation made by Nicole Hambourg to the City of Deauville are to be discovered. The exhibition is designed as a journey to the destinations the artist prized, from Paris to the Maghreb, via Provence and Normandy.

As an extension, visitors can discover on the Planches of Deauville nearly thirty works from the Franciscan collections illustrating the places that inspired André Hambourg. An exhibition to visit from Wednesday to Sunday.

The “Blue Train” or… The 1st Blue Train 2017, a legendary route from Deauville to Cannes. Nearly 50 pre-war cars will set off on the “Blue Train” route. Participants will leave Deauville to cross Normandy before joining the castles of the Loire, Burgundy, the Saône and Rhône valleys, then Provence and its lavender scents for a triumphant arrival in Cannes, on the famous Croisette!

Deauville receives Lexington as part of its twinning with the American city. The delegation will visit Deauville and the region and will go to the American cemetery in Colleville to pay tribute to its soldiers. On Saturday at the Villa Strassburger, representatives of the two cities will sign a new charter to reaffirm this twinning.
