These two 1600-meter races, reserved for the thoroughbred elite, are usually run at the Longchamp racecourse. With the latter undergoing renovation until autumn 2017, Deauville has been chosen to host these prestigious events.

Jacques-Emile Blanche reveals his portrait
of Deauville's Belle Époque


In 2016, Deauville renews its participation in the Normandie Impressionniste festival, whose theme is portraiture, with an exhibition devoted to Jacques-Emile Blanche.
The exhibition will reveal the painter's links with his contemporaries,
loyal to Normandy and especially Deauville.
Open daily from Wednesday to Sunday and on August 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission: €3 - Free for under-18s, students and jobseekers.
Opening May 13 at 5pm - free admission.


As an extension to this, visitors can discover the "Faces to the Sea" exhibition on the Planches de Deauville, featuring some thirty portraits from the collections of the Franciscaines, a future cultural center scheduled to open in Deauville in 2019.
