Longines becomes the Official Partner of the City of Deauville

The Swiss watch brand Longines is now the Official Partner of the City of Deauville. This agreement also includes a collaboration with the Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville and the 25th Longines Hour photographic competition. Deauville has been adorned with Longines clocks, which can be admired on the famous boards. Since 2015, Longines has already been a partner of the prestigious world-renowned Swiss Alpine resort of St. Moritz.

After the success of a similar partnership 3 years earlier with the prestigious alpine village of Saint-Moritz, Longines said it was "proud and honored to repeat the experience with the City of Deauville" which becomes the Official Partner of the resort. This new commitment also includes a collaboration with the Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville, which hosts the famous Longines Deauville Classic in August. It also includes the 25th Longines Hour photography competition, which is held each year on the occasion of the changeover to winter time, and invites participants to take a photograph of the town between midnight and 1am. The Swiss watch brand becomes the Official Partner, Official Watchmaking Partner and Official Timekeeper, and the Official Partner and Official Watchmaking Partner respectively.

On the occasion of this announcement, Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice-President of Longines and Director of International Marketing, declared: "It is a great honour for our brand to be the Official Partner of Deauville today, and to see one of the most emblematic cities in the world, which lives all year round to the rhythm of equestrian events, adorned with the Longines colors. Our long-standing commitment to equestrian sports has been written into the history of our brand. Since then, our involvement in these sports has continued to grow.

Deauville : the horse city

Horses have been a part of Deauville's history since its foundation. It should be remembered that the man who gave birth to the resort, the Duke of Morny, had given priority to the construction of the racecourse rather than the church. Today, as an international showcase for horses and an attractive hub for Normandy, Deauville hosts its two racecourses and its International Horse Park: races seven months of the year, thoroughbred and trotting auctions, a world polo championship, a training center, show jumping and dressage competitions, paddock-polo and horse-ball tournaments. It is finally logical that Deauville and Longines have decided to join forces through this partnership, as the city and the watch brand share common values. Indeed, beyond the elegance that characterizes them both perfectly, the reciprocal attachment they have to tradition and performance could only bring them closer.
