This year, four days of competition await riders and spectators at the Longines Deauville Classic. An event at the heart of the DNA of the city of Deauville vibrating all year round to the rhythm of the horse and its major events.

Once again and with impatience, the best riders from 22 nations are expected to offer the Norman public a competition of the highest quality. On the program for this summer competition, a CSI 1 *, a CSI 3 * and the eagerly awaited Longines Grand Prix of the Normandy Region at 1,50m on Sunday afternoon, which will be the high point of this prestigious competition. The 2020 edition crowned the Frenchman Edward Levy and his faithful stallion Sirius Black, ahead of Argentina's José Maria Larocca on Finn slow of 44 centimeters.

Very good French riders but also foreigners will be present. Among them, Mathieu Billot, member of the France team just back from Tokyo, Pénélope Leprévost (member of the France team in Tokyo and team gold medalist in Rio in 2016) and Philippe Rozier (also medalist in gold in Rio in 2016). The Normans Alexis Deroubaix, Julien Epaillard, Eugénie and Reynald Angot, Camille Condé Ferreira, Marc Dilasser and Edward Levy will also be in the game. Foreign riders will not be outdone with pilots coming from far away, notably from Canada, Brazil but also from Madagascar or the United States.

Activities for the whole family

In addition to sport, a family space "le Village of the Norman races "is installed to promote the four 100% Norman breeds: the Percheron, the Norman Cob, the Norman Donkey and the Cotentin Donkey. Coupling demonstrations, the Fish Truck - a fishmonger's school truck -, a food court and a village of exhibitors are to be discovered throughout the competition.

The Longines Equestrian Challenge Normandie

Enthusiasts and neophytes are expected at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse for the first stage of the challenge: a frantic race over 1500m led by the riders of the competition. The next day, meet this time at the Pôle international du Cheval Longines - Deauville for the second and final stage of the challenge. It will be the turn of the jockeys to chain an obstacle course. All the teams will aim to beat the sacred duo in 2020, composed of Nicola Philippaerts, show jumping rider, and Christophe Soumillon, jockey.
