Beach of Villers sur mer

The beach of Villers-sur-Mer is at the center of the world... It is the first French city to be crossed by the Greenwich Meridian! Walking dykes invite you to stroll and contemplate the landscape. To the North-East, the view of the Cap de la Hève and its rotating lighthouse, to the North-West, a grandiose view of the cliffs of the Vaches Noires from the beach.
The seaside resort also bears witness to the Belle époque with its picturesque villas along the beach. A particularity of this beach is the Black Cow Cliffs, a geological curiosity dating from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, 4.5 km long and 100 meters high.
For those who are not so keen on history, the beach is the venue for many summer events including the famous Sable Show festival and sports tournaments all summer long!

ACCESS
You can get to the beach by the Avenue de la République which runs along the beach, as well as by the Rue Michel d'Ornano and the Rue du Général Leclerc. The latter two being narrow, we advise you to access the beach by the Avenue de la République.
You will find parking spaces on the Avenue de la République and in the perpendicular streets or behind the Casino Tranchant, Place du Lieutenant Fernand Fanneau. A paying parking lot is also available on Place Jean Mermoz in front of the Tourist Office. Other free parking spaces are available in the residential areas a few blocks from the sea.
Pets are not allowed on the beaches from April 1st to September 30th.
Outside this period, dogs are allowed at low tide and must be kept on a leash.

SURVEILLANCE
The beaches of Villers-sur-Mer are supervised from July 1st to September 1st without interruption from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm and from May 1st to July 1st on weekends and public holidays from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.
