DEAUVILLE - June 16 to 19, 2023

LINKERS OPEN DEAUVILLE DRAGON
Forty or so sport keelboats meet to battle it out for four days on the renowned technical waterway of Deauville.

The Linkers Open de Dragon de Deauville is now one of the major European events of the discipline and brings together each year an extremely high level of participation, with great champions from all over Europe. Reserved for the famous sport keelboats that are the Dragons, this regatta will take place from June 16 to 19 with a strong foreign representation.

A little history...

The Dragon is said to be "the boat of kings, the king of boats". A three-man sports keelboat, the Dragon was designed at the end of the 1920s by the Norwegian architect and regatta competitor Johan Anker. It quickly established itself as an ideal boat for competitive sailing and became the official keelboat of the Olympic Games in 1948. This sailboat, with its sleek lines and modernized over the years, has defied fashion to win the loyalty of a clientele of fine helmsmen, who love the finesse of its aesthetic cut.
If Dragon fleets are present on all the French coasts, the Deauville Yacht Club can claim to be the oldest Dragon fleet in France. It has existed since 1951!
