SEA OUTINGS: WE HOIST THE SAILS!

Sail on a sailboat
with the Deauville Yacht Club
Throughout the year, the Deauville Yacht Club organizes sea outings that allow you to take a new look at the region's magnificent coastline from the sea.
Led by a passionate professional, embark on a sailboat from the port of Deauville and sail past the beaches of the Côte Fleurie to discover the sea birds and the cliffs of the Roches Noires. You will be able to admire the estuary of the Seine and its bay from the Cape of Antifer to Courseulles-sur-mer. An incursion in the Touques river will allow you to embrace two neighboring cities, Deauville and Trouville-sur-mer.

Cross the estuary to the other side of the Seine
Every year from May to September, a maritime shuttle offers the public the opportunity to cross the Seine estuary between the ports of Deauville/Trouville-sur-Mer and Le Havre.
Embark in the morning on the launch, spend the day there, then return in the evening by the reverse route.
In addition to the practical side of the trip, which allows you to arrive directly in the heart of the cities and not have to worry about parking and traffic constraints, the crossings themselves are magnificent moments of discovery. Landscapes, infrastructures, architectures seen from the sea offer a completely different point of view!
Sail aboard the François Monique!
The François Monique originates from the harbour of Brest where it was built at the Chantier du Fret by Auguste Tertu. Her first launch was on September 16, 1935. She was built for Hervé Salaün, a scallop fisherman, who also harvested maerl (calcareous sand) to improve the land and red seaweed to fertilize the fields. In 2008, the old rig was bought by Franck Brize and repatriated to Deauville. He created the Petit Foc association and then began the restoration of the boat with the help of volunteers and subsidies from public bodies and local partners, giving it back its character of a shellfish boat from the Brest harbor, with its colors and its rigging of yesteryear.
