The words of Françoise Sagan sublimated by the choreographer Jean Claude Gallotta

Long-awaited meeting between the words of Françoise Sagan and the dance of Jean-Claude Gallotta. The choreographer, master of the pas de trois, has plunged back into Bonjour tristesse. He has imagined in echo a dance of love, light and loose. A choreography of embraces, danced with passion. Impulses, desires and words, invested and carried by three magnificent dancer-performers.

"On this unknown feeling whose boredom, sweetness obsess me, I hesitate to affix the name, the beautiful serious name of sadness", so begins, in the fifties the "scandal" Sagan, by this novel of 188 pages of a "charming little monster" of eighteen years. We are at the beginning of the "Trente Glorieuses", an ideal time to be dizzy in the "amusements", the carefreeness, the permanent recreation, the lightness and the will to live of a society to be rebuilt. Françoise Sagan, with her dry and fast voice and writing, with her taste for forbidden and illicit pleasures, is the standard-bearer, one of the first faces of the New Wave. This lightness, the contemporary dance has little seized it. This literature, it did not frequent it much. Judged too bourgeois? Too futile? Too egocentric?
With Comme un trio, Jean-Claude Gallotta revives the pas de trois, in the tradition of Daphnis é Chloé, Pandora, and most recently L'Étranger after Camus. From one beach to another, to the murderous sun of TheStranger, Bonjour Tristesse responds with a sun in love with the desirable, golden bodies in the sand that line the rowdy villas. And like the writer, the choreographer went fishing for the little crabs that crisscross the human soul, he saw cruelty, fits of perversity, existential doubts.
