Resort Barrière Deauville hotels earn international ISO 20121 certification
The Resort Barrière Deauville has taken a new step in the deployment of its "Planète Barrière" strategy by obtaining international ISO 20121 certification for the Hôtel Barrière Le Royal Deauville*****, the Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy***** and the Hôtel Barrière l'Hôtel du Golf****.

This certification - issued by AFNOR Certification, a benchmark player - is a genuine endorsement of the Resort Barrière Deauville's CSR policy and responsible events approach, and attests to the commitment of its hotels and catering business to the sustainable, eco-responsible management of their events activities (seminars, events, shows). Valid for three years, the certification comes with the obligation to provide annual proof of their progressive and ongoing commitments.

In concrete terms, each certified establishment commits to the following aspects:
-Encouraging soft mobility: The Resort Barrière Deauville hotels are accessible by train and provide a service in favor of soft mobility (provision of bicycles or charging stations for electric vehicles).
-Reinforcing the circular economy approach: This involves recycling waste, reducing wastage, water buffets and awareness-raising campaigns to combat food waste, and limiting the use of single-use products.
- Developing a policy of energy sobriety : A policy of reducing consumption is implemented through energy audits carried out on all establishments and the monitoring of associated action plans. Renewable energies account for 50% of Groupe Barrière's energy contract.
- Enhancing the value of the region: establishments are required to offer at least one "responsible" activity in conjunction with partner agencies, and/or a local activity.
- Promoting a policy of solidarity: each establishment is associated with players who promote solidarity, such as the UNISOAP association, which recycles used soap, or the Café Joyeux association.
Adopting a responsible approach to events, a long-standing Group commitment
The Barrière group has been committed to reducing its sources of impact for several years now. In 2020, it launched an ethical and responsible events approach. A strategy has been deployed from 2021 through the Responsible MICE Charter. Each signatory establishment undertakes to respect its principles and deploy the associated action plan, supported by training courses.
Sustainable Innovative Destination
The international ISO 20121 certification obtained by Barrière supports the City of Deauville's designation as an "Innovative Sustainable Destination". This label highlights the town's efforts to organize sustainable congresses and seminars, as well as the development of sustainable tourism, of which Barrière is a "committed partner".
