THE FRANCISCANS : THE IMAGINARY AT WORK

Invested since 1878 by the congregation of Franciscan sisters who lived there, this remarkable heritage of Deauville is now a unique place, entirely dedicated to culture. It brings together a museum, an auditorium, a performance hall, exhibition, reading and documentation spaces structured around themes dear to Deauville: the horse, cinema, entertainment, photography, the art of living and the youth. With its innovative scenography, this new living space in Deauville invites the visitor to become an actor and to put his "imagination to work". Here, no signposted route, everyone chooses according to their inspirations. Shows, concerts, literary meetings, conferences, major exhibitions, cultural events in connection with the artistic and editorial news of the place are scheduled throughout the year. At the heart of the building, a museum is dedicated to the figurative painter André Hambourg (1909-1999). The Exhibition Court and the Masters Gallery host temporary exhibitions.
