Les Accords Parfaits, a store full of good things, joins inDeauville
At Accords Parfaits, every product has a story to share. Exotic, surprising, original, we find ourselves trying to find out what's behind each label... Here, the salt comes from Madagascar, the pasta is made from durum wheat from the Puglia plateau, the green tea is sprinkled with ginger, peony petals and pomegranate... 130 square meters dedicated to fine groceries and wines, this is the kingdom of craftsmen who cultivate ancestral know-how so as not to lose a crumb of flavor.
This is also the realm of its creators, Jean-François and Florent Langlois, father and son, who have a taste for good things and particularly for pairing food and wine.
You'll discover the philosophy of Duchaussoy, coffee selector and roaster... of Château d'Estoublon, olive oil producer, or of Mariage Frères teas, each variety an invitation to travel. Full Moon Red" was presented to Elizabeth II during her official visit to France in June 2014. It's red Rooibos, a theine-free plant from South Africa with a fragrance of almonds and exotic fruits. What can we say about Calvados Camut, Drouin, Dupont or Huard, other than to invite you to discover all these ancestral flavors.
A history of good things
It's also the realm of its creators, Jean-François and Florent Langlois, father and son, who have a taste for the good things in life, especially when it comes to pairing food and wine. For them, every tasting must be a pleasure... Originally, they were family insurers. When he retired in 2007, Jean-François Langlois transformed a family building he had inherited on the port of Port-en-Bessin. They turned it into a delicatessen, "Le Marché de Lalie" (his daughter's nickname). Then, in 2010, they set up shop in Caen and two years later in Deauville under the name "Les Accords Parfaits". For them, the latest store is the most accomplished in its offering. The one that benefits from all the experience gained to date.
Their customers are different. In Port-en-Bessin, they welcome visitors to the D-Day beaches. In Caen, city dwellers. In Deauville, many visitors from Paris and abroad.
Jean-François and Florent admit to having had a hard time identifying the best products when they first started out in 2007. Then, as time went by, they met new people through trade shows and word of mouth. A sommelier has just joined them. He, too, brings his own share of renewal. In the cellar, a skilful balance is struck between the great estates and the little-known nuggets that he invites visitors to discover.
The Langlois fathers and sons love real encounters with winegrowers. They like to believe in the product, tell its story and bring it to life. Jean-François talks with stars in his eyes about the "unreduced 30-year-old Calvados from Domaine Dupont" and a Drouin Calvados from a 1939 cask hidden from the Germans. An explosion in the mouth! And much, much more...
