La Competition, which promotes independent cinema; them Firsts, films made by American productions; Ie New Hollywood, which honors the future by inviting actors or actresses, jewels of the cinema of tomorrow; Ies Uncle Sam's Docs to dive into the reality of American society; two novelties since 2020, the Window on French cinema et The Hour of the Croisette, which affirms the idea of ​​a bridge between the two founding nations of cinema; the Ornano-Valenti Prize to support a first French feature film.

LA COMPETITION

According to Bruno Barde, director of the festival, rto reveal is a useless pride, to accompany is the humility that befits the servants of the cinema. Since 1995, the "competition" section of the Deauville American Film Festival has hoped to be one of them by conveying to spectators and professionals its enthusiasm for the best of American cinema. Four Prizes will be awarded: the Grand Prize & the Jury Prize are awarded by the Festival jury, the Louis Roederer Foundation Prize for Revelation awarded by the Revelation jury, the Critics' Prize awarded by critics and journalists and the audience of the City of Deauville resulting from the vote of festival-goers.

THE DOCS OF UNCLE SAM

Created in 2003, the selection Les Docs de l'Oncle Sam provides a better understanding of American society through documentaries, a testimony of its time and its era.

PRICE D'ORNANO-VALENTI

The Prix d'Ornano-Valenti, made up of Anglo-Saxon journalists, is awarded each year to a first French feature film. This Prize is awarded during the award ceremony by Jean-Noël Tronc, in his capacity as President of the Franco-American Cultural Fund, accompanied by a representative of the Motion Pictures Association, as well as Jean-Guillaume d'Ornano, President of the jury of the Prix d'Ornano-Valenti.

THE TIME OF THE CROISETTE

Since 2020, the Deauville American Film Festival has partnered with the Cannes Film Festival through the "L'heure de la Croisette" selection and the screening of award-winning films at the last Cannes festival.
