THE 5 SECTIONS OF THE AMERICAN CINEMA FESTIVAL

The competition, the Premieres, films made by American productions, thee New Hollywood, which honors the future by inviting comedians or actresses, flagships of tomorrow's cinema, theUncle Sam's Docs to dive into the reality of American society and a novelty for 2021, the Window on French Cinema, allowing borders to be opened across the Atlantic.

LA COMPETITION

According to Bruno Barde, director of the festival, rto show off is a pointless pride, to accompany is the humility that befits the servants of the cinema. For 25 years, the "competition" section of the Deauville American Film Festival has hoped to be one of them by transmitting to spectators and professionals its enthusiasm for the best of American cinema.Four Prizes will be awarded: the Grand Prize & the Jury Prize are awarded by the Festival jury, the Louis Roederer Foundation Prize for Revelation awarded by the Revelation jury, the Critics' Prize is awarded by critics and journalists and the Prize public of the City of Deauville resulting from the vote of festival-goers.

THE FIRST

The films of the Premieres are part of American productions, for the most part, films that will be released in theaters after the revelation in theaters of Deauville, during the festival. 

THE DOCS OF UNCLE SAM

Created in 2003, the selection Les Docs de l'Oncle Sam provides a better understanding of American society through documentaries, a testimony of its time and its era.

WINDOW ON FRENCH CINEMA 
In parallel with these sections, in 2021, the festival opened a window on French cinema, a selection of French feature films in preview. 

LE NEW HOLLYWOOD

New Hollywood was launched by the Deauville American Film Festival in 2011 to reward the talent, enthusiasm and commitment of actors on the path to creation. These emerging performers are the spokespersons for future films.
