From the Place du Lavoir in Villerville, you can now take the coastal path that runs along the cliff and leads directly to the Domaine du Grand Bec. This is where Catherine and Eric Estrier are based. Five years ago, they bought what was then called Les Chambres d'Annie. On these few hectares facing the sea, they offer independent rooms and cottages. A timeless place where you wake up to the sound of the waves.
Change of course
Both were born in Le Havre, where they studied and met on the benches of the Prépa HEC business school. Their professional lives then unfolded successfully in Paris. International management for Catherine, a career in consulting, IT services and human resources for Eric. In 2014, after thirty years in the business, Eric is looking for new professional values. Together they decide to join their daughter and son-in-law, who run the Haras du Manoir in Saint-Pierre-Azif, with no idea of what to do next. Les Chambres d'Annie was the perfect opportunity. The location is rare, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea; below the winding road that links Trouville-sur-Mer to Honfleur; picturesque opposite a pretty castle straight out of a fairy tale.
Sit there and do nothing
The setting is idyllic. Eric and Catherine put all their energy into the business. Drawing on her marketing skills, she relaunches the internet sales, manages customer relations and works on service quality. Eric, for his part, renovates all the spaces and becomes superintendent of five gîtes (from 50 to 100 m2) and five bedrooms housed in the Domaine's main house. The soul of the place: an invitation to bask in the sea. In the comfortable sofas of the houses or on the deckchairs of the terraces, the Estriers invite you to do nothing. Contemplate, breathe and recharge your batteries. The decor is meticulous, down to the smallest detail. The guest house's large living room is the perfect place to gather around the fireplace.
It's no coincidence that massages are a popular service. Families also enjoy having seafood platters or carefully selected ready-made meals delivered to their door. They can also choose to cook baskets of organic vegetables and eggs from the neighboring Roches noires farm. Alongside his orchards, Eric has set up an educational farm, a favorite destination for children staying at Le Grand Bec.

A head full of projects
The Domaine du Grand Bec is sometimes privatized to host seminars for small groups of fifteen to twenty people. A new seminar room and a SPA structure are in the pipeline.
After his educational farm, Eric would like to entertain children with a mini-golf course... To be continued.
