Because any reader has the right (and the will) to give their opinion on the selection made by the professional jury of the City Prize, the Deauville Mediatheque and its book club have made their voices heard since 2008. As soon as it is aware of the official selection, the club meets, reads, exchanges, debates, and votes for the book that has won it over. It was during the festival's inauguration on April 8 that the award was presented.
