OFF EXHIBITIONS
Every year, the "Off" section of Planche(s) Contact hosts around 15 photographic exhibitions produced by photographers who live in Deauville for part of the year, or by collectives and associations of photography enthusiasts. Deauville and its surroundings remain the central theme of this program, which is led by photographers who know the town and its atmosphere inside out. Exhibitions take place in private venues, galleries and hotels from October 20 to November 25.

Camille and Michel HERMANT

Camille and Michel Hermant
Les temps retrouvés

With this title, evocative of Marcel Proust, and her clever photomontages, Camille Hermant brings together Deauville's past and present. A creator of imagined moments combining film and digital, she revisits the town's well-known landmarks in her universe, on the border between dream and reality.

EXHIBITION LOCATION: Galerie du Casino
Boutique entrance.

Open daily 10am-2am, Friday 10am-3am, Saturday 10am-4am.

Nicolas KATZ

Nicolas Katz
Essentials in the shadows

Here, Nicolas Katz pays tribute to female training riders. More numerous than men in the world of horse racing, they ride and care for horses with an almost maternal devotion. They create a bond of trust and complicity with their horses. The photographer himself has succeeded in creating this bond through close-up, silver-based, medium-format photography.

SHOW PLACE : Avenue de la République between the SNCF train station and Pom's
Open-air exhibition.

What heat!

Aline Barbé invites us to plunge into a colorful, intense reality. Through a play of color and form, her graphic compositions, close to abstraction, revisit a summer's day on the beach at Deauville.

PLACE OF EXHIBITION : La Cerisée
15 rue du Général Leclerc - daily 10am>7pm

Kevin LOUVIOT

Kévin Louviot
Deauville emptied.

Deauville, an empty town? Interstices are created between seasons and places. The absence of human presence, the frontal nature of the shots, the banal but identifiable subjects, a deserted Deauville that inspires Kevin Louviot's bittersweet poetry of the cyclical abandonment typical of any seaside town.

EXHIBITION VENUE : Tie Break - Tennis municipal
Boulevard de la Mer, Open daily from October 20 to November 18, 9am > 5pm.

Véronique Mollero

A few steps on the boards...

The boardwalk is one of Deauville's symbols, and the site of a vibrant social life. It seemed only natural to Véronique Mollero to capture a few snapshots of the anonymous people who have come to follow in the legendary footsteps of this legendary promenade.

EXHIBITION SPACE : DEAUVILLE TOURISME
Quai de l'Impératrice Eugénie, open every day from 10am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday, then every Sunday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm.

Dominique Rimbault

Dominik Rimbault

Bubbles of imagination float over the city above the sea.

Bubbles of imagination on the sea. Ephemeral reflections of forms in the making. Fluid memories of a city...a city of water, of water-city. Shifting sands of memories. " A man and a woman" at dawn on the beach. Dominik Rimbault offers us his ballad on the boards, where reality and dreams merge and metamorphose.

EXHIBITION PLACE : WINDOWS OF THE SWIMMING POOL
Boulevard de la Mer (Open air exhibition)

An (almost) secret garden

Its beach with its multicolored parasols, its surfboards... everyone recognizes it. But who knows its (almost) secret garden, "Le Parc Gulbenkian"? You can get there by taking the back roads that lead up to the heights of the city. This 38-hectare park is protected by tall trees in the shape of cathedrals of greenery. It's a garden of silence and well-being that inspires dreams and meditation. It's the garden of the paradox of a life, more than hectic in the four corners of the world. A haven of peace offered to Deauville in 1973.

EXHIBITION VENUE: TEMPLE PROTESTANT

The big scenario

There are places where the spirit blows... In Gulbenkian Park, there's an alley, " le grand scénario ". A " cosa mentale": a place of rest, refuge, leisure and full enjoyment of the aesthetics of nature. A romantic exploration photographed on film with a view camera.

EXHIBITION VENUE: TEMPLE PROTESTANT

Photographic meditation

Eighty seasons and the Second World War have passed through the Park created at Les Enclos by Calouste Gulbenkian. Saint John Perse wrote to him in a letter: "This park is the centerpiece of your works because (...) it is the most secretly guarded for your dream". Jean-Pierre Bilhaut sought out his gaze...
