The events policy is the inDeauville asset

Year-round events to boost visitor numbers

Culture, running events, equestrian sports, racecourses, traditional festivals... there are plenty of opportunities to come to the region. The region's main cultural events continue to grow, boosted by targeted communication plans. The aim is to attract audiences who make a cultural program a reason for a vacation or weekend. Media partners support their deployment. This is the case, for example, with SANEF, the 107.7 freeway radio station present in Deauville in summer for 6 hours of live broadcasts from the beach, and every year at the Planche(s) Contact Festival.

Culture & Tourism feed each other

France's cultural and heritage offering is one of the country's main tourist attractions. [...] It is one of the main reasons why French and foreign tourists come to France, whatever their country of origin.

What will drive us forward in 2019

La Micro-Folie until September
This multicultural, multifunctional venue opened at Point de Vue on December 22. The Micro-Folie concept, which is being rolled out across France, has the same ambitions as the Franciscaines: to disseminate cultural content, encourage creation and creativity, and be a place of conviviality and exchange. In its first two weeks of operation, it attracted 6842 visitors.

New mediation tools at Paléospace
Starting in 2019, a system of visits using digital tablets will enable visitors to acquire knowledge in a fun way. A new roofed structure will be installed to expand the site's capacity to welcome schoolchildren.

The Russian Art Festival returns August 22-24
The world's best dancers will gather in Deauville for a second, even more breathtaking edition, never before seen in France.

Planche(s) Contact celebrates its 10th anniversary.
For this anniversary edition, the Festival team is shaking up the programming.

Equestrian sports strengthened by the Pôle International du Cheval Longines Deauville

Sandrine Boyer Engel

In 2019, the Pôle will benefit from the Longines partnership, whose international involvement in the equestrian world is well known. A major asset that will enable it to raise its profile. The best international riders have made no mistake. More recently, Félicie Bertrand, Clément Boulanger, Tony Hanquinquant, Robert Breul and Astier Nicolas have set up shop nearby, using its top-quality facilities.

Constant activity :
11 events organized by outside companies,
13 official competitions organized by the Pôle,
646 horses present at Warm-ups (training sessions),
1 300 boxes rented during competitions,
13 000 entries,
78 days of competition.

Racecourses, the cornerstone of summer attendance

Naïade Plante

For Franck Le Mestre, director of Deauville-La Touques racecourse, "2018 was a good year, with an increase in the average visitor basket and paid admissions. Measures to attract families have been put in place, including a bouncy castle and new events. Over the year, more than 80 000 visitors passed through the racecourse. The last quarter was particularly good".

As for the Hippodrome de Deauville-Clairefontaine, it celebrated its 90th anniversary with the gift of the excellence label. Tripadvisor. 44 935 visitors came to watch the races (137 for the 2018 season). 72 guided tours took visitors behind the scenes.

Tennis: one of our priorities for 2019

Sandrine Boyer Engel

In Touques, the Deauville-Trouville Open has been creating a buzz for the past two years. It has grown by +50% between 2017 and 2018, driven by a fine line-up of male and female players (David Goffin, member of the world top 10 / Alizé Cornet, French No. 3), a very strong communication plan, theme days for younger players and a high level of partnerships.

The Open is supported not only by local authorities, but also by private companies. The popularity of the grounds has inspired all the local clubs, who have decided, under the impetus of the SPL Territoire de Deauville, to better organize and complement their offerings.

A wide range of events all the time: inDeauville, a machine for creating conviviality

Brocantes (flea markets), children's workshops, guided tours, shows for young audiences, readings, nature outings, traditional festivals... The SPL Territoire de Deauville's entertainment and sports division has taken on the task of organizing a host of activities and events to add to the calendar of events.
It's impossible to list them all, so numerous are they. Three of them, however, bear witness to the diversity of the proposals and the dynamic that has been set up across the eleven communes.

LES NUITS DU TOURISME: 700 visitors discovered tourist sites throughout France at dusk
LA FETE DE LA COQUILLE ET DES FRUITS DE MER: no fewer than 130 exhibitors were present.
LA FETE DE LA MER: 800 visitors enjoyed this traditional festival in Villerville
