Normandy, guest of honor at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann
Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, the Normandy Region, Normandie Attractivité and Atout France are joining forces to honor Normandy, one of France's most emblematic regions, during the "Normandie Chérie" event, which will run from July 5 to September 1, 2019, at the iconic department store on Boulevard Haussmann. Within the framework of this unique partnership, the four actors have combined their expertise to bring the best of the Norman savoir-vivre and spirit to the capital. The Docks of Le Havre, the half-timbered houses of Rouen, Port-Racine, the Cité de la Mer... many images have been installed in the store and the windows. One of the strong symbols is the Deauville parasol which punctuates the store and its terrace with brightly colored spots so familiar to the people of Deauville.

Normandy has built its reputation on its unique landscapes, sources of inspiration for many artists, fashion designers, writers and painters, who have also taken advantage of its natural, architectural, cultural and gastronomic heritage. Its unique atmosphere and its role in world history make it the second most famous region in the world after California, and a mecca for tourism with over 18 million visits per year. Because of its rich heritage, Normandy has been a favorite destination for Parisians and international tourists since the 19th century. This is why Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, which welcomes more than 37 million visitors from all over the world each year, wanted to celebrate this region and its art of living during this summer event.

On this occasion, Normandy will take over all three buildings of the store, including the windows on the boulevard Haussmann and the panoramic terrace, as well as the floors of the main building "Coupole", the Man, the House and the Gourmet. Pop-ups, tastings, workshops and other activities will be offered to discover the know-how and typical products of the region, and invite visitors to a journey reminiscent of the famous boards and parasols of Deauville, the half-timbered houses of Rouen or the docks of Le Havre.
For this event, a wide variety of Norman brands were put forward in order to discover the universes which make the reputation of the region, whether in gastronomy (in partnership with the brand Saveurs de Normandie), oenology, ready-to-wear, accessories or art of the table.

To embody the cultural and artistic richness of the region, Canadian photographer Kourtney Roy - who has worked extensively on the theme of Normandy - has been chosen to take a series of shots of the Fashion and Accessories selections in emblematic locations in the region, which will be featured in the event's advertising campaigns and in the store windows. An exhibition of photographs dedicated to the region's landscapes, created with the help of Normandie Attractivité, will also be on display on the Passerelle linking the main "Coupole" building to the "Homme" building.
