In addition, five young photographic talents will be present: Abdoulaye Barry, Chau Cuong Lê, Grégory Dargent, Jean-Charles Remicourt-Marie and Julia Vogelweith. The Carte Blanche is entrusted to CLaude Lelouch.
Tenth edition: the new axes of the Festival

Planche(s) Contact confirms its commitment to public commissions by broadening its perspective. After inviting the greatest names in photography to capture the identity of Deauville, it is now inviting them to explore the neighboring territories as well. Planche(s) Contact, a festival of artistic creations where the photographers in residence transmit - each with their own language - their vision of a city, becomes an observatory of the territories and their evolutions, from the Normandy coasts to the big cities nearby, through the landscapes of the Pays d'Auge.
Laura Serani has been invited by the city as the new artistic director of the Festival. With a program built over several editions, the 2019 festival is the beginning of a new path.
"Laboratory of observation of territories through images": the concept of the festival is affirmed and strengthened for the photographers and young talents invited in residence, from different countries and continents and for the public and the inhabitants of the city, always more solicited in their participation.
In addition to the "Longines 25th Hour Competition" and the workshops, in 2019 there will be portfolio readings, workshops and master classes with the invited photographers.
For this anniversary edition, Sarah Moon has been invited to chair the jury of the Festival, which supports young photographic talent each year and designates the winner of the Prix Planche(s) Contact. The author of a very personal photographic work that highlights the transience of beauty, the ephemeral and the wear and tear of time, Sarah Moon had turned her gaze to Deauville in 2014 where she signed a series entitled Deauville face à la mer.
