THE VILLERVILLE DIKE, A WALK ON THE CLIFFS
One of the symbols of the beach of Villerville, a village of character with its picturesque village, old streets and colorful houses, some of which are timber-framed.

The 450 meter long Villerville dike allows you to walk below the village built on the cliffs, along the beach at low tide or at the water's edge when the tide is high and it almost disappears. First built in 1810 in wood to protect the land that was sliding towards the sea, they were rebuilt in 1920 in concrete as we know them today.
The access is through the center of Villerville, at the level of the old casino, by a small stone staircase at the crossroads of the "Monkey in Winter" (Henri Verneuil's film shot in 1962 in Villerville with Jean Gabin and Jean-Paul Belmondo). It is also possible to reach the beach of Graves by the Park of Graves, wilder and ideal place for nature walks! On this side, you will also find the Falaises des Roches Noires - Pointe du Heurt, 4 km long and 60 meters high, which alternate gentle slopes and steep walls.
