The Touques Peninsula

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the City of Deauville invites you to rediscover the history of the Presqu'île de la Touques, the new district of Deauville.

Developed over time on the Touques estuary, diverted, filled and then reshaped, the Deauville peninsula was successively, a commercial port, gathering at the gates of the city: wine quay and coal quay, shipyard , mechanical workshops and port warehouses… while being a renowned marina welcoming the most prestigious yachts.
Changing since 2002, the Presqu'île becomes a new district of Deauville with the construction of new housing, shops, services and public spaces. Since 1860, it has also been a district of Deauville where the ghosts of the Empress Eugénie, Eugène Boudin, Sainte Thérèse, Raoul Dufy, Alain Colas, Eric Tabarly, Louis de Funès ... Marguerite Duras.
