Friday April 7 - SCHOOL DAY
Literature is the place par excellence for discoveries, exchanges and initiations into the world and its cultures. Since its creation, the Books & Music Festival has been keen to promote access to books for all its audiences, and particularly among the youngest. Words and notes invite themselves in classrooms, from kindergarten to high school, all year round. This work with the teaching staff culminates in a day entirely dedicated to the school public: nearly 3000 students, from kindergarten to terminal, flock to Deauville to share, during a meeting, a strong and privileged moment with the artists. guests.

On the program for the day: the Teen Award, a musical show and dozens of meetings and workshops ... As many formats as subjects addressed for 3-18 year olds, with always at the heart of the discussions, the passion for book and love music!

In 2017, the children will go on a trip to Haiti to discover the Creole culture with La Compagnie Tropique du Cancer.
On the other side of the Atlantic is a vast archipelago at the crossroads of the maritime routes between Europe, Africa and America. Thus were forged the Antilles, variegated, warm and tumultuous, and the Creole identity which connect them from north to south. Originally from Haiti, the magnificent singer Moonlight Benjamin rediscovers for this show the flavor of tales from her childhood. We follow to the sound of the cuatro and steel drums the adventures of Mabouya, the little lizard trying to understand "where it comes from and where it is going". Fun and social satire mingle in the purest West Indian tradition, where we do not forget, behind the festive spirit, the dark hours of slavery and colonization.

This day is exclusively reserved for the school public.
