THE EXHIBITION ON THE BEACH: COAST TO COAST - FROM CAPE COD TO DEAUVILLE
Deauville, capital of American cinema, had to pay tribute to the master of American photography that Joel meyerowitz. This New Yorker frequented Cape Cod in the summer, while in Deauville, on the American East Coast.

Joel Meyerowitz meets Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank. A revelation for this advertiser, who will then become a photographer. Walking the streets of New York to cross the United States, he takes his legendary street photographer photos. His inextinguishable curiosity led him to Europe in the mid-sixties where his style asserted itself. Back on Cape Cod, he goes from the discreet Leica to a large wooden chamber, discovering another way of photographing, no longer on the spot but by playing on exposure times and space. From the sign of Pisces, he has a carnal relationship to water and the sea which have inspired both his portraits and his landscapes and swimming pools, which will be presented on the beach at Deauville.
He was among the first photographers to dare to sell color photography on the art market as early as 1970.
