inDeauville presents its new Convention Bureau

With a convention center occupied 300 days a year for almost 150 professional events, a wide range of accommodation, an airport with 30 European destinations and numerous activities close to the water, all that was needed was a structure to boost the appeal of business tourism. And now it's here. As of this summer, inDeauville, a tourism promotion and territorial marketing network covering 11 communes*, has added a sixth centre of expertise: the Convention Bureau.

Tourism,

the destination's leading economy

InDeauville and its businesses make their living from tourism in the broadest sense. Business tourism has been an integral part of the local economy since the 1960s-1970s, with the major trade shows TOP RESA in 1978 and TOP COM in 1984. Today, the region hosts between 250 and 300 business events a year. Thanks to the Center International de Deauville - convention center - and the Franciscainesthe destination can accommodate all types of events: conventions, seminars, gala evenings, cocktail parties, exhibitions, conferences, team-buildings...

Its high hotel capacity (the Barrière Deauville resort and the Bertout group for Accor, for example) means it can accommodate over 5,000 delegates simultaneously. What's more, Deauville is a certified Innovative Sustainable Destinationcertification, reflecting its eco-responsible approach, and inDeauville is certified under the Marque Qualité Tourisme.

Sports,

new development axis

inDeauville is a destination renowned for the sporting events it hosts every year. The Deauville Normandie International Triathlon has brought together 8,000 athletes since 2012, and has become France's leading triathlon in just a decade. As has the Marathon International in Deauville, with its 9,000 runners, making it one of the top 10 marathons in France, and this year joining the "World Marathon Majors" ranking. For the second year running, Deauville is the host venue for the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, during which Europe's finest players compete on the Diane Barrière course at Golf Barrière Deauville.

Since 2021, Deauville has entered the dynamics of the Olympic Games. Four of its sports facilities have been selected by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games organizing committee as official training venues: the Commandant Hébert stadium (soccer), the Leisure Park (soccer), the POM'S (basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, table tennis, karate) and the Pôle International du Cheval Longines - Deauville (show jumping, dressage, horse-ball, polo, driving). International teams in twelve disciplines will be able to be hosted there until the Paris Games in 2024.

The first large-scale event to be supported by the Convention Bureau, the Congrès des Notaires is the 4th oldest professional congress in the world, and the oldest in Europe. Over the course of 4 days, some 5,000 delegates pushed open the doors of the Center International de Deauville and consumed the region, both in terms of accommodation and catering, and the activities offered by local incoming agencies. In partnership with restaurateurs and shopkeepers, a number of events were organized to welcome notaries and their guests during the congress.
